American Helicopter and Museum & Education Center

WHAT:  Combining demonstrations and hands-on experiments with educational activities in the Museum’s gallery of helicopters makes for an exciting and memorable visit. We also encourage setting aside “free time” so that visitors can explore the aircraft, climb in the cockpits and try their hands at the controls. Black Rock Retreat Homeschool Programs

WHAT: Homeschool Outdoor Education Days are an exciting opportunity for students 6 to 17 to explore God’s creation through hands-on, experiential learning in the outdoors.
Each day typically includes:

  • Two Creation Exploration sessions
  • Morning devotion
  • Take-home manual for each student

WHAT: Looking for a solution to cabin fever over the winter season? Winter Dayz will be held every Tuesday & Wednesday mid-January through mid-February. Ages 8 and up: Each day will include an hour of gym/team sports time and an hour of craft or project time. Students will be divided into groups based on age so that they are playing sports with those of similar age and ability.

TeenPact Leadership Schools

WHAT: TeenPact is a dynamic, hands-on leadership school for Christian students. Our mission is to inspire youth in their relationship with Christ and train them to understand the political process, value their liberty, defend the Christian faith, and engage the culture at a time in their lives when, typically, they do not care about such things.

For students ages 13-19, we have a nationally acclaimed Four Day Class followed by an optional Political Communication Workshop. The entire week is hands on, dynamic and focused on stretching students out of their comfort zones. The students who complete the Four Day Class are now eligible for our national Alumni Events.

For students ages 8-12, we have a fantastic One Day Class where parents and students experience a fast-paced introduction to state politics and the principles of citizenship.

WHEN: Pennsylvania’s TeenPact is scheduled for April 30-May 3 and May 4th, 2018. Most states have their own school and can be attending by “out of stater” students.

The Student Diplomat Program
Jr. Model United Nations

WHAT: World Affairs Council of Philadelphia offers a five-month journey introducing middle school students from around the Greater Philadelphia area to the world of international relations and cultural diplomacy. With an emphasis on developing students’ research, writing and communication skills, The Student Diplomat Program meets a growing demand for international affairs curricula in area middle schools.

Delegates participating in the 2018 Jr. Model United Nations Program will focus on one of the two following committee topics: (1) Ending Food Insecurity and (2) Protecting Women and Girls’ Access to Education.

As participants in the program, students will: (1) explore the mission, structure and function of the United Nations; (2) learn how to write, amend and defend a policy resolution; (3) apply their research and critical thinking skills to specific global issues; (4) understand the role of diplomacy and deliberation in international affairs; and (5) develop skills in conflict resolution, problem solving and cross-cultural communication.

WHEN: Cultural Diplomacy Conference: Jan. 4, 5, & 9, 2018; Jr. Model UN Prep Conference March 7 & 8; Jr. Model UN Final Conference May 16 & 17, 2018.
Registration deadline is November 17th.

DETAILS:  Join veteran homeschooling parents for Classical Conversations’ signature event.  Their three day event of encouragement and inspiration is absolutely free for parents.  In it they seek to understand the classical model of education and learn how to apply it in Christian homeschooling.
