Homeschoolers: Science Fair & Rube Goldberg Competition

Homeschoolers have the opportunity to be part of the Greater Philadelphia Homeschool Science Fair 2016!

FOR MORE INFO:  Check out the Greater Philadelphia Homeschool Science Fair website:

Homeschoolers can attend the fair even if they are not participating in it, so if your child(ren) cannot participate this year, your family may enjoy going to see other students’ work.  There is no entrance fee if your family just goes to see the projects.  This program would make an excellent field trip!

* Students can choose not to compete, if they so desire.

Homeschoolers: Build a Rube Goldberg Machine

The City of Philadelphia will be hosting a Rube Goldberg Machine contest at Friends’ Central in Wynnewood, PA , and Homeschoolers are invited to participate!  The task?  Build a machine that can open an umbrella.

What is a Rube Goldberg machine?  It’s a machine similar to the game “Mousetrap” that was popular when I was little.  Basically it is a machine that uses lots of funny, complicated, and clever steps to perform a very simple task.  Mythbusters created a RubeGoldberg Machine on one of their Christmas episodes.  You can check out their machine by clicking on this link:
