Free Admission to “Dinosaur Museum” – Academy of Natural Sciences

My children have always referred to The Academy of Natural Sciences as the “Dinosaur Museum.”  It is well-known for its fantastic displays of dinosaur fossils.  Its permanent exhibits  also include an amazing live butterfly exhibit and a live animal center.    The museum boasts changing exhibits as well.  This Wednesday, October 26th, the museum will have  FREE ADMISSION!

Here’s the basic information:

What:  Academy of Natural Sciences

Where: 1900 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19103

When: Wednesday, October 26th

Time: 10am to 4:30pm

The museum is providing free admission to celebrate an affiliation agreement between the Academy and Drexel University.  Face painting and the opportunity to make dinosaur and dragon puppets (to take home) are some of the many special activities planned for the museum that day.  For more information check out this website:

  1. thank you so much for posting these great ideas for field tips . I am a homeschool mother of four . my children ages are 5,4,2 and seven months. We love to go on field trips but we are not a part of a group and it can be lonesome for me at times . would love to fellowship with your group if that is possible . I live in philadelphia and I am a part of a coop on fridays but would love to get together with other families for feild trips . Bless you sis
